There is nothing quite like a walk in nature. The inescapable and almost divine beauty that I regularly see on my walks is worth any hardship I may endure along the way. Without nature people are lost simply seeking to reconnect with their ecosystem.
“The forest was shrinking, but the trees kept voting for the axe because it’s handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.” -Proverb
No matter the season an emotional connection to the natural world can help us in our everyday lives, and our environment as well. Without appreciating the importance and beauty of each season, it impossible to fully embrace the beauty of the natural world. To connect to the ecosystem we are a part of will allow for an appreciation of the natural world. That appreciation will inherently lead to a protectiveness over natural and wild spaces. Therefore, the best way toward environmental protection seems to be through forging emotional connections with the natural world. The result of this will be that pushing for environmental protection will come from a place of inherent respect for nature, not out of fear of human interest alone.
