The Fox

The inky cloak of dark black smoke,
Shrouded the icy sky,
As the deep snow fell,
And the winter’s hell seemed to cover that inward eye.

Then in a flash, I saw it dash as in days of old,
A fox at play this winters day,
It melted my frozen soul,
It played all day,
And made me say,
Oh, how I love winter so.
