It is in the small moments that Nature comes to life,
The rustling of Autumn leaves in the cool, sharp wind,
A Meadow Lark dancing through the air,
The light glistening off the calm churning of some Adirondack lake.
These are the moments that show Nature’s beauty,
To look upon these small intricate moments,
One can see the sweet music of existence.
The air aches of the cold changes to come,
The blissful sun-kissed Summer days have gone south with the birds,
Soon snow and ice will reign over the once idyllic landscape.
Yet those beautiful crimson leaves refuse to yield just yet,
For a brief moment, they cling to the trees,
Announcing the grandeur of Nature,
Only to lose their resolution and fall to the ground.
However, those bright and vibrant reminders layer the earth,
Letting all know that just as the sun rises and sets,
So do the seasons change, and Nature always returns.
Lighthouses are among the most powerful symbols in the nautical history of the United States. Particularly, in the New England region these structures stand resolute against time and tide, and pay homage to the past while lighting the way for the future.
