Nature’s Immortal Link

A golden hue clung to the sweet summer air,
I could not say how long my feathered friend was there,
With brown wings and fierce eyes, all I could do was stare.

His power and grace made me think,
Of Nature’s immortal link,
That binds us even as we stand on the brink.

And as he soared off toward the setting sun,
I felt a hope deep inside me run,
A feeling that something had just begun.

The Eastern Shore

The Eastern Shore churned in a roar,
As the sun blazed down on the deep azure,
There seemed nothing the bay could not cure.

Not sadness or strife,
Or messiness of life,
Could stop the peace, cutting through all like a knife.

Dolphins leapt in jocund glee,
As Sailfish rose and splashed back down into the sea,
All of it brought such joy to me.

And those birds which do delight,
Those wondrous Pelicans in flight,
Brought the world a general light.

Such is a day when the bay does roar,
Glistening on that Eastern Shore.

Time Wandering By

A cool breeze shook the maple leaves
As the spring sun shrouded everything in ease
The golden hour when even time dances with the trees.

Sunlight frolicking, seeming to fly
That beautiful light warmed my inward eye
Hazel, orange, and blue are painted across the sky.

The sunlight fading made me grin
Though the ending of such perfection seemed a sin
But any day when beauty reigns can only be a win.

Ever Flowing

The gentle gurgling of the river flowing,
Enlivens my heart’s sublime growing,
Through the lime-green trees, life is showing,
The path to deepened knowing.

Moments of beauty laced with pain,
Are chances to grow and learn again,
Doing all we can to keep ourselves sane.

Through it all, there is a path,
To that beautiful lime-green grass,
Away from anger and needless wrath.
